BIO
Dessa Bobosky is a recent graduate from North Central College with a major in Graphic Design, and minor in Interactive Media Studies. She was born in Naperville, IL and lived in Batavia for most of her life. Growing up with a grandfather who is a self-taught painter and artist, Dessa has always been drawn to the arts. Her love for the arts grew when she started taking graphic design classes at Batavia High School. Since attending North Central College, Dessa has found a love for photography and videography. Throughout her academic career at North Central College, Dessa has taken photos of Century Walk art for the Naperville Sun Calendar, she has also created graphic work for the First-Gen program at NCC. Expanding her creative process, Dessa has created sales brochures for Aurabeat Technology. Regarding her passion for social media, Dessa gained experience in social photography contributing to the local Barnes and Noble Instagram account. Currently, Dessa is a full time Photography Intern for Elkay Manufacturing in Downers Grove, IL. This opportunity has provided her with experience working within a design team, and has helped her improve her skills with the Adobe Suite.
Both of Dessa’s parents were raised in farm families. In her first exhibition, she wanted to capture the empowering effects that farming has had on her family. Especially the “Quintessential Moments in the Day in the Life of a Farmer.”
Lastly, Dessa has made the Dean’s list the past 4 semesters of her college career. With this energy she hopes to take the momentum beyond college and find stability as a marketing and design creative. With this being her first ever exhibition, Dessa hopes that others will find enjoyment in her art and gain insight on the earnest life on a farm.
